Amazon has launched an upgraded version of its Alexa virtual assistant, to be known as Alexa Plus (Alexa+), with the new version being more conversational, executing complex tasks, and being more personalised.
It is set to be available free of charge to subscribers of AmazonPrime, whilst others will need to pay $20 per month
The virtual assistant will be able to learn information fed into it, such as documents, emails, and recipes, with the information being searchable at a later date
It will also be able to analyse photos and video and respond in a more empathetic tone
Amazon hasn’t announced any new hardware, but has said the new features will be available on a new web experience at Alexa.
