Gaming news outlet Digital Foundry has published a video tech analysis comparing the PS5 and PS5 Pro performances of the recently released Final Fantasy 7 remake, Final Fantasy 16 demo, MMO Final Fantasy 14, and the upcoming Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.
The analysis shows that the PS5 Pro doubles the GPU cluster count of the original PS5, which generally provides a 30% boost in performance for yearly flagship titles.
The analysis also showed that the Final Fantasy 7 remake benefits greatly from the extra GPU power in the form of dramatically improved Ambient Occlusion, better particle effects like fog and embers, and deeper depth of field effects.
According to Digital Foundry, all of this adds up to a “far more immersive experience”.
