Summary
YouTubers John and Rich recently live streamed themselves unboxing the PlayStation 5 “Professional” development kit, and it appears the console may be fully backwards compatible.
While testing the unit, the duo found they were able to download and play games from the PlayStation 4 library, including Call of Duty: Black Ops III, which they confirmed works on the new system.
It wasn’t all good news however, the console didn’t play nice with Grand Theft Auto V, unfortunately it crashed during loading.
The pair also revealed the specs of the development kit, which sports 8GB RAM and an octa-core CPU based on the third-gen AMD R1000 series.
Sony has yet to comment on rumours of PS5 specs or backwards compatibility, but it is expected to unveil the console at E3 next month.
