Summary
During a short livestream, Nintendo provided further details about its upcoming title, Mario Kart World, ahead of its launch on June 5.
The game offers free-roaming between courses, allowing players to explore a “vast interconnected world”
This world includes P-switches which activate small missions to improve driving skills, collectible medallions, and question-mark panels, and ‘drive-thru’ facilities to unlock new outfits.
Courses are inspired by the regions whose landscapes they occupy, whilst ‘nostalgic courses’ are reimagined for the game.
Mario Kart World also includes a Grand Prix mode, a Knockout Tour mode, and Vs Mode races.
The latter offers three-lap races on a single course and allows players to deploy weapons in a Balloon Battle mode or focus on collecting coins in a Coin Runners mode.
