Microsoft raises prices on Xbox hardware, says “some” holiday games will be $80

From today, Microsoft has increased the recommended retail price of Xbox consoles and accessories, citing the “rising cost of development”.
In the US, the Xbox Series X price is now 599.99fortheversionwithadiscdrive,and549.99 for the digital version, both increases of $100.
The cheaper Series S is now 429.99for1TB,and379.99 for 512MB, both increases of $50.
Microsoft says pricing for headsets will only change in the US and Canada, perhaps reflecting the Trump administration’s increased tariffs on some imported goods.
The tech giant has also warned that Xbox Series S and X availability may change over time, depending on the country and retailer.
Microsoft has also announced that it will be charging $79.99 for some first-party games this Christmas, whilst existing games will not see a price rise.
