Summary
Nintendo has provided more details of the improvements to older Switch games on the Switch 2 console.
Most will benefit from improved screen resolution and optimisations for the new console’s screen.
Other enhancements will include mouse controls using the new Joy-Cons, GameShare for multi-player, and HDR support.
The most significant upgrades will be frame rate improvements for the 2022 Pokémon games, Scarlet and Violet, which suffered significantly from frame rate dips on the original Switch.
These performance issues were so severe that Nintendo issued a rare apology and pledged to improve the games through software updates, a challenge the new console should now be able to meet more easily.
