Sierra made the games of my childhood. Are they still fun to play?

Summary
A group of gamers based in the US, who were fans of Sierra On-Line adventure games as teenagers, have been discussing their favourite aspects of the games.
They were reminiscing about the difficult, cryptic aspects of the games that they remembered, which in some cases, such as with King’s Quest III, led them to buy the Hint Books published by Sierra to help them when they got stuck.
The Hint Book for King’s Quest III suggested that players “move around” the oak tree in question, because “you can only find the right kind of acorns in one spot”
The gamers also discussed the time when they got stuck on Space Quest II: Vohaul’s Revenge, and their parents had to be persuaded to call Sierra’s 1-900 pay hint line, which was priced at 75 cents for the first minute and 50 cents for every additional minute.
They recalled that the puzzle centred on having to enter a command to “get acorns” repeatedly in the right spot to advance the plot.
