AMD’s $299 Radeon RX 9060 XT brings 8GB or 16GB of RAM to fight the RTX 5060

Summary
AMD is continuing to roll out its Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards based on its RDNA 4 architecture, with the latest introduction being the Radeon RX 9060 XT.
The new GPU, targeted at Nvidia’s RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti offerings, features 32 RDNA 4 compute units, putting it at around half the size (and price) of the company’s previous top-end RDNA 4 card, the RX 9070 XT.
Both 8GB and 16GB versions of the RX 9060 XT will be available from June 5, costing 299and349, respectively.
While the new card could provide solid performance at 1080p and entry-level 1440p gaming, the biggest caveat, as with most new GPUs, is likely to be finding one in stock at the expected retail price.
This problem continues to be driven by the overall semiconductor shortage, exacerbated by miners snapping up GPUs, but it’s likely to improve gradually throughout the year.
