Nvidia RTX 5060/5060 Ti review: You can have “affordable” or “future-proof.” Pick one.

Summary
Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX 5060 GPU is “fine”, performing noticeably faster than the RTX 4060 it’s supposed to replace, but no longer does Nvidia have a substantial performance and power efficiency lead over AMD’s offerings.
The 5060 runs roughly between 10 per cent and 25 per cent faster than the 4060 at 1080p and between 20 and 40 per cent (and occasionally more) at 1440p; it’s supposed to retail for the same price.
However, buying the 5060 comes with two major caveats: one, 8GB of RAM is really starting to look limiting; and two, rival AMD’s similarly priced (in theory) RX 9060 XT offers better performance and will likely receive driver updates for longer.
Unless you can find the 5060 for its $299 list price, it’s hard to recommend it over the AMD alternative.
That said, the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti is a better deal at its list price of 429,offeringdecententry−level1440pperformance,butittooisfrequentlysellingfor100 more than that.
