However, it has now been cancelled due to being deemed as not meeting standards, with developer Sports Interactive deciding to focus on the 2026 version.
The game was delayed twice and was already fairly late in the European football season.
Miles Jacobson, head of developer Sports Interactive, had described the 2025 version as the “first chapter in the new book of Football Manager,” requiring a new engine and the redesign of over 500 screens of data.
But the scope of the game had been subject to significant changes, which Jacobson attributed to the company’s ambition, stating that it wasn’t “making the same bloody game every year.
