A new video from Valve watcher Tyler McVicker has highlighted a range of new information in the latest updates for Valve games that point to the development of the heavily rumoured Half-Life 3 (HLX).
McVicker says that strings within the updates suggest that the Source engine is undergoing a range of changes that typically occur towards the end of a game’s development cycle.
Changes to the AI systems in the updates also suggest that AMD’s AI-powered FidelityFX Super Resolution upscaling is in use on HLX, and further indication that the game is in its final stages of development.
McVicker stresses that while he believes that HLX is nearing release, these developments could still mean a year or more of development is still to be completed, meaning a possible release date of 2026 is still heavily speculated.
Valve is yet to make any official announcement regarding Half-Life 3 or any subsequent Half-Life titles.
