Epic Games is addressing one of Windows-on-Arm’s last big app compatibility gaps

Summary
Epic Games has announced it will bring Fortnite to Windows PCs powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips, along with an anti-cheat system called Epic Online Services Easy Anti-Cheat, later in 2023.
The move will boost the popularity of the gaming on PCs that use Arm-based chips, which have improved significantly in performance in recent years.
While Windows on Snapdragon PCs have improved significantly, certain bottlenecks still exist, such as certain titles not being optimised for the platform, including online multiplayer games that use kernel-level anti-cheat software, which won’t work on the devices.
However, Epic’s integration of the software will benefit from the increase in user numbers of Windows on Snapdragon PCs to make it more attractive for developers to optimise their games for the platform.
