Summary
Game developer Typhoon Games was acquired by Google in 2019 to create exclusive content for the Stadia platform.
However, in 2021 Google shut down its Stadia Games and Entertainment publishing division and Typhoon Games was closed.
The former Typhoon developers reformed as Raccoon Logic, with the support of Tencent, and reacquired the rights to the Savage Planet franchise.
The newly launched billboard at this year’s Game Developers Conference features the character of Gunther Harrison, the satirical antagonist from the upcoming game Revenge of the Savage Planet, and makes reference to Harrison’s former boss and the emotional stress his actions caused.
Revenge of the Savage Planet is set to launch in May 2025.
