After DDOS attacks, Blizzard rolls back Hardcore WoW deaths for the first time

Summary
World of Warcraft (WoW) developer, Blizzard, has changed its stance on restoring players’ characters in its Classic Hardcore (HC) mode, following a spate of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.
In HC mode, player characters are permanently deleted if they die, and until now, Blizzard has refused to overturn these deaths, even when they were caused by bugs or server outages.
The change will only apply to deaths that occur in “a mass event which we deem inconsistent with the integrity of the game”, such as a DDoS attack targeted at a specific guild, which has reportedly been suffering targeted attacks.
The OnlyFangs guild has reportedly been targeted in such attacks, resulting in the permanent deletion of many of its characters, and the apparent end of the guild.
Blizzard has not made any official statement regarding the change or the apparent targeting of the OnlyFangs guild.
