Summary
The Nintendo Switch 2 console will include a custom Nvidia processor, believed to be a hacker port of the powerful Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU, according to ARS Technica.
While specific details of the new gadget’s chip are undisclosed, Nvidia has confirmed that it will incorporate its Ray-Tracing Cores and Tensor Cores, supporting advanced graphics and AI-driven enhancements.
This will allow Nintendo Switch 2 to run games at 4K resolution, and to upscale lower-resolution images without significantly impacting performance or quality.
The device will also utilise Nvidia’s G-Sync to prevent screen tearing when games are running at variable frame rates, though this function will only be available in handheld mode.
Nintendo has not yet released any details regarding the price or launch date for the Switch 2.
