GTA 6 publishers think PC is of increasing importance in 2025, but still won't announce the magic date

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has stated that he sees PC gaming’s “increasing share of the market” as a positive thing, and seems to suggest that even if GTA 6 helps to boost console sales, the ongoing growth of the PC gaming space is where the focus should be.
While GTA 6 is slated for a 2025 release on console, the company’s usual practice is to release the game on PC around a year later; GTA 5 released on PC around 18 months after the original console release, while GTA 4 took eight months longer, and RDR2 took a year.
This suggests that a PC release for GTA 6 could be expected in 2026, although Zelnick’s comments might hint at a faster deployment to PC this time around.
The comment supports the wider industry trend of PC gaming growth, with data from Steam showing that nearly 70% of all Steam users play with a controller, suggesting many are using their PCs to play console-like games.
