Relic Entertainment, the developers of Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, has been sold by Sega as part of its wider restructuring of the company.
Relic’s new owners are a holding company established by London-based investment firm Emona Capital LLP, which owns a controlling stake in the company.
In an interview with Game Developer, CEO Justin Dowdeswell confirmed that Relic would continue to support its existing games, such as Company of Heroes 3, as well as weighing in on the pros and cons of reviving old games.
He also indicated that the company is looking to produce a mixture of revival projects, big new games and smaller, faster turnaround projects that can be taken to market in under two years.
