Summary
Finnish studio Housemarque, responsible for the acclaimed Returnal, a third-person shooter roguelite game released exclusively on the PlayStation 5, is to release its next title Saros.
The new game shares many similarities with Returnal but has a different focus on progression, with permanent upgrades that allow players to make progression between deaths, rather than relying purely on randomised elements.
As with Returnal, the game will be released first on the PlayStation 5, with a PC release expected at a later date.
Housemarque was bought by Sony in 2021, which may affect the eventual PC release date.
The game will feature narrative contributions from RPS co-founder Alec Meer, who also worked on Returnal.
