Summary
Funcom has announced that its multiplayer online video game Dune: Awakening, inspired by the fictional universe of Frank Herbert, will be released on 20 May.
The game is currently accepting pre-orders, along with the release of a character creator.
This release also comes with a benchmark mode, allowing players to test their hardware performance and system compatibility, whilst also enjoying some gameplay snippets.
In Dune: Awakening, players can customise their characters, including home planet, caste and mentor, which will determine their starting abilities, but they will eventually have access to all skill sets.
Gameplay includes persistent sandworm threats that are attracted by sound, and the ability to lure them to attack enemy players.
