Summary
Chinese gaming companies Team Jade and TiMi Studio Group have released a new free-to-download cooperative campaign for the Delta Force game, the first new release since 2004.
The new release is inspired by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down, adapted from Mark Bowden’s book about the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia.
The game is currently only available for PC users, but a console version is expected to be released in the future.
This isn’t the first Delta Force game to find inspiration in the Black Hawk Down storyline, with a similar title released in 2003.
The game is produced with input from Revolution Studio, one of the production companies behind the movie.
While the game is centred on events in Somalia, the country has been plagued by civil war for several decades.
Recent media has highlighted the ongoing situation in Somalia, with many locals asking for reparations from foreign governments and calling out the occupying US forces.
