Assassin's Creed Shadows has leaked a month before release, and Ubisoft are cracking down on stealthy early videos

Summary
Ubisoft’s forthcoming stealth game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, appears to have surreptitiously slipped ahead of schedule as copies of the game have emerged and videos have appeared on YouTube, prompting the game’s publishers to issue a statement requesting that people avoid sharing spoilers and emphasise that any content published thus far is not necessarily indicative of the quality of the final game.
Ubisoft is reportedly concerned as the game is intended to be a key release amid restructuring at the company, which has experienced disappointing financial returns in recent months and is seeking to secure what is believed to be a mooted takeover by Tencent.
The game had already been subject to several delays as developers Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai worked to improve a “dissatisfactory” showing with the previous year’s Star Wars Outlaws.
Ed Thorn of Rock Paper Shotgun commented recently that he’d enjoyed the game but was unconvinced by its split protagonists, but looked forward to its imminent release.
