Summary
AMD has released details of its new Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT GPU cards, which will be available from 6 March, starting at 549and599 respectively.
The new cards are advertised as being able to compete with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti, with the latter currently retailing for $749 upwards.
While the RTX 5070 has not yet launched, it will match the RX 9070 on price, with the Radeon card having a slight edge on VRAM, and the RX 9070 XT providing enhanced boost clock speeds and ray tracing performance.
Both AMD cards are set to support FSR 4, the latest iteration of AMD’s upscaling and anti-aliasing solution, which is becoming more similar to Nvidia’s DLSS, particularly in its use of AI and machine learning.
FSR 4 is set to have more game compatibility at launch than FSR 3, with this number anticipated to rise to 75 by the end of 2025.
