Coatsink has announced a sequel to its pastel-hued village arranger, Islanders, called Islanders: New Shores.
It will be available in summer 2025.
Islanders: New Shores sticks to the original game’s formula of placing buildings to maximize perks and achieve a high score.
But it also boasts several new features such as one-time power-ups, advanced scoring systems, and a sandbox mode.
There are also claimed to be “50 dynamic island generators offering endless variety” and 44 unique building types.
This announcement comes a decade after the original game was released, with Rock, Paper, Shotgun’s reviewer Alec Meer noting that it was the last game he reviewed for the site before moving onto other responsibilities.
