Summary
Popular game developers Zach Barth and Matthew Seiji Burns, previously behind hits such as Exapunks and Shenzhen I/O, have unveiled a new puzzle game.
Called Kaizen: A Factory Story, the game is set in 1980s Japan and allows players to build toy robots, computers and TVs, as well as Japanese curry dish katsu kari.
The game features the designers’ usual hallmarks, including solitaire-style challenges and a “program your own puzzle” mode, as well as a new feature allowing players to edit their creations.
It will be the first game released by Coincidence, a new studio formed by Barth and Burns after the closure of Zachtronics, which had released their previous games.
There is no release date for Kaizen: A Factory Story yet, although players can already check out a trailer online.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun has become a big fan of the designers’ work, swooning over Shenzhen I/O and losing sleep over Eliza, and the news of their latest project has been met with great enthusiasm.
