Monster Hunter Wilds is not compatible with Steam Deck, or many other low-end PCs, but the game is now available on Nvidia’s GeForce Now streaming platform.
The platform enables players to stream the game from the cloud, with the Steam library syncing with GeForce Now so that players can access it at no extra cost.
While there is a fee for the service, which depends on the performance tier selected, reviewers have found that even the lower performing option provides a significant boost to the game’s performance on Steam Deck.
Input lag is almost non-existent and the game is generally smooth and responsive, but a strong WiFi connection is required to maintain good performance.
Therefore, whilst GeForce Now does provide a better experience than running the game locally, it should be noted that taking the Steam Deck outside of the home will require a dependable WiFi connection to function well.
