Studio ZA/UM, the company behind the award-winning RPG Disco Elysium, has revealed its next game, called C4.
The new game is being developed over three years and is focused on espionage.
C4 is distinctively not a sequel to Disco Elysium and will feature no heroes, only the “stench of failure”
The presentation was led by Jim Ashilevi, who directed voiceover workflows on Disco Elysium and Siim “Kosmos” Sinamäe, a producer and writer for the RPG.
The game will have a heavy focus on failure being a mechanic for progression and is being described as “slow horses”, in reference to the espionage novel series of the same name, which is centred on a group of disillusioned, dysfunctional spies working for a British intelligence agency.
No gameplay was shown, but a trailer showcased eye-catching artwork and a script in a similar style to Disco Elysium.
There will be a second part to the presentation, to be shown at GDC later this month.
