Summary
Lunacid: Tears of the Moon is a new RPG created using FromSoftware’s ancient Sword Of Moonlight: King’s Field game creation tools from 2000, which provided hundreds of map parts, objects and characters for developers to use.
Officially released only in Japan, the toolkit fostered a thriving fangame scene, and Lunacid is the latest game to use it, taking place in a fallen kingdom and seeing players journey underground to soothe a restless cosmic being.
It features lurid smog-filled dungeons and lumbering choreography in first-person combat, and will be officially released on 12 April 2025.
