Developer Koei Tecmo has issued a statement on Steam acknowledging the problem and promising a patch “soon”, but has also offered some tips to fix the issue in the meantime.
One suggestion is that PC players needing file sharing turned off entirely in their documents folder, while Steam’s Cloud saving function might also help, providing players rename their local save data and use the Cloud data instead.
While players await a proper fix, it might be a good idea to steer clear of Rise of the Ronin until the issues are completely resolved, given the save file wipe appears to be the most serious issue impacting gameplay.
