The games industry is broken say the CWA - so they're building an industry-wide union

Summary
Communications Workers of America (CWA), which helped establish the game workers’ union at Activision Blizzard, has announced United Videogame Workers-CWA (UVW-CWA) to organise the North American games industry.
UVW-CWA’s mission will be to not only build community and solidarity, but also to build large-scale education campaigns about labour organising in the video game industry, and will commence with a campaign around lay-offs.
At this year’s GDC, they will be sharing a petition to address layoffs across the industry, and hope to gain support for the new sector-wide union.
They have also produced a video game worker bill of rights, which sets standards for hiring, crunch, healthcare for contractors and protections against other forms of inequality.
The move follows the success of strikes and union efforts at Activision Blizzard, Bungie, Rocksteady, Apple and Google last year.
