Summary
The Future Games Show featured a range of games, but it opened and closed with two games from the same developer, albeit with one remade by a different studio.
The show opened with a look at Lost Rift, a PvPvE survival game from developer People Can Fly, which was formerly known as Project Victoria, but was shelved late in 2022.
The show closed with a look at a Painkiller remake, made by Anshar Studios, which has also worked on Baldur’s Gate 3 and the aforementioned Outriders.
Painkiller will feature four playable characters, each with their own passive ability, and co-op is a much bigger component than in the original game.
There are also tarot cards that grant buffs, currency to earn and skins to unlock.
It’ll be released in the Fall of 2025, and is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
