Summary
Nightdive Studios has announced a release date for its remake of System Shock 2, which is to be called System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster.
The release date is June 25, 2022, almost thirty years after the original game’s release in 1999.
The game is to be a remaster, not a remake, and improvements will include widescreen support, redesigned enemies, and enhanced reload animations.
The studio says it has been focusing on multiplayer and co-op, and those playing in multiplayer groups will be pleased to hear that “optimized controller support” has been added.
The game is to be released on PC, as opposed to the original release which was on PC and Mac.
Owners of Nightdive’s remake of the original System Shock will get the System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster for free.
