Summary
Paradox Interactive, in its bid to revolutionise its space exploration and conquest 4X game Stellaris, will release a performance-boosting update called Phoenix on 5 May.
The update is designed to re-energise the game and make it more accessible to players, particularly newer players.
Paradox acknowledged that the game has become “overwhelming in the early stages”, so it will change events and notifications to ensure they are meaningful and that players receive fewer purely informational notifications.
Moreover, the developers will review the game’s galaxy generation to reduce the chances of encountering solar systems with a large number of habitable worlds, thus reducing the number of decisions that newer players have to make.
-Phoenix will also add “suggested tasks” to give newer players guidance on pursuit of goals, such as building a Dyson sphere or becoming a Galactic Custodian.
