Civilization VII has released a patch that offers players the option of removing the animation of unit movement to allow them to move between hexes more quickly.
The world generation in the game will now enable players to tweak the rules for “start position”, and settlements and commanders can be renamed.
A “restart” button has been added to the pause menu to allow players to wipe everything and regenerate the map while keeping their chosen leader and civilisation.
Notifications will now warn players when a distant city comes under attack, or when a game reaches the modern age, among other changes.
Developers Firaxis plan to release future updates including the ability to auto-explore, some new resource types, improvements to AI, and the ability to queue research projects.
