Gaming developer Cyan Worlds has made 12 staff redundant, cutting the studio’s workforce by half.
Cyan, responsible for immersive puzzle games Myst and Riven, said industry conditions had forced the redundancies.
In a social media post, Cyan said it had communicated the “choppy waters” the company was experiencing to the whole team, meaning the redundancies were not a surprise.
The company also said it was looking to secure finance for its next project.
Cyan is a long-established developer, having been founded almost 40 years ago.
Its most recent release, Riven, was well-received last year.
The company also provided a list of the employees affected, to help them find new work.
