Sorry, other game devs, but Rockstar is still keeping quiet about a release date in the name of maintaining anticipation

Summary
The release date for GTA 6 is still unknown, although Rockstar and Take-Two executives are doing their best to maintain excitement, knowing that the longer they dangle the promise of the game before gamers, the more other games will suffer as a result of lower sales when it is finally released.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, when asked about a potential release date, pointed out that some competitors’ strategy is to “provide marketing materials relatively close to the release window”.
This has led to rumours that the game will not be released until the summer, with a possible fall release window, as Rockstar needs to compete with other major releases and doesn’t want to clash with them.
There is also the fact that GTA 6 will not be available on PC at launch, which means developers of other games on this platform can breathe a little easier for a while.
However, this could change further down the line, as and when Rockstar decides to release the game on this format, so it could still impact sales of other games on the PC platform.
