Summary
The CEO of Larian, Swen Vincke, praised the free Baldur’s Gate 3 mod, Baldur’s Village, for its in-game inclusion of characters from the popular role-playing game.
However, soon after its publication on March 16, the mod was removed following a takedown request from Wizards of the Coast.
The company, who owns the rights to D&D, issued a statement saying the take-down was a mistake and that they were in the process of rectifying the situation.
Following a backlash from players and the mod being restored to Nexus Mods, the mod’s creators have stated that their next focus will be Halsin’s romance storyline, expanding the gameplay, and introducing new features and items.
The directors of the mod have also set up a Patreon page to enable them to expand the mod and add further references to Baldur’s Gate 3.
