Summary
Astroneer, the popular space survival game from System Era Softworks, is getting a sequel in 2026 in the form of Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions.
The game will be set in the same universe but with a different style and focus, offering “an ever-evolving space station” where players plan expeditions and upgrades and hang out with other players.
Most significantly, it will focus on cooperation and teambuilding, with players having to work with the “entire crew” of a space station to complete objectives across multiple star systems.
With a new focus on discovery and camaraderie, System Era says that Starseeker will offer “a multitude of star systems” and Planet-wide objectives, as well as “fascinating creatures, hazardous flora, and mysterious forces” to confront.
Until then, the original Astroneer will continue to receive updates for years to come.
