Indie game developer FakeFish, known for creating the survival horror game Barotrauma, has announced its new title Frostrail which is set to be released in 2026.
Frostrail is a first-person shooter based in a snowy apocalyptic world where players control a train in a cosmic horror setting.
Players must explore the wilderness to gather resources and fight humanoid enemies, as well as upgrade their train and investigate “forgotten dungeons and crumbling ruins” which can be done alone or in online co-op with up to four people.
FakeFish’s previous game Barotrauma is a submarine-based game in the same horror genre, which currently has over 1 million copies on Steam and continues to be updated with new content.
