Summary
Developers Tequila Works, known for creating the games Rime and The Sexy Brutale, went into insolvency in 2020 after losing backing from Tencent.
Now, the remains of the company are selling all its assets in an open auction, including games that have already been published like Deadlight, and projects that were in development.
One of the projects, The Ancient Mariner, seems to be a follow-up to Rime, which makes reference to the Coleridge poem Rime Of The Ancient Mariner in both title and theme.
Other projects mentioned in the auction listings include Dungeon Tour, a mix of Dungeon Keeper and Overcooked; Brawler Crawler, a game set in a chaotic urban universe; and Froze Outpost, Mr. Bones, Hungry Cities and Under A Logger’s Moon, all of which are labelled as “unreleased video game concepts”.
It is not clear what happened to the staff of Tequila Works, who were expected to fulfil their responsibilities despite the lack of funding, according to Eurogamer.es.
