Summary
In a recent Twitter post, gaming company Capcom confirmed that gamers had been modifying game data in the Monster Hunter Wilds online game, causing disruption to gameplay.
The game developer has issued a warning to players not join any quests which are displaying signs of modified data and it is working to introduce additional countermeasures to mitigate the problem.
These will be introduced in future updates, but in the meantime, Capcom is examining final ranking results for the recent Doshaguma of the Hollow challenge quest to check for cheaters, and any players found to be cheating will have their accounts restricted.
It is not clear why players are cheating in this game as the challenge is the point of the game, and rankings are meaningless if not achieved legitimately.
