Bungie has now accidentally granted early access to the game to some players on Xbox, ahead of a closed alpha test due to begin on 23 April.
Twitch user “bomberboyz130” streamed one hour of gameplay until Bungie shut down the servers.
The developer has since clarified that this was due to a technical issue, which has now been corrected.
Marathon is scheduled for release on 23 September this year.
