Borderlands 4 gets an earlier release date, as accidentally revealed by Randy Pitchford

Summary
Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox, has announced that the release date of Borderlands 4 is being moved forward from September 23rd to September 12th.
The information was shared in a since-deleted video that was posted prematurely, prompting Pitchford to repost the video once the news was already out.
Some believe the change may not be related to development speed and confidence, but rather the previous date being the same as that announced for the new Bungie game Marathon.
Borderlands 4’s original date would probably have been far from the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is published by Take-Two, the same company behind Borderlands 4.
Borderlands 4’s move could be seen as stepping into an elevator with a gassy teenager to avoid the other elevator containing the obnoxious monopoly of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Whatever the reason for the change, Borderlands 4 fans won’t have to wait as long as originally expected to start shooting.
