Summary
Yuji Horii, writer of Chrono Trigger, has reportedly spilled the beans on a remake of the popular JRPG at a convention in Naples.
However, following the initial excitement and conjecture online, a VOD of the event has surfaced online and it appears that the interpreter at the event misquoted Horii completely.
Instead of saying Chrono Trigger, Horii was quoting the success of the Xenoblade developer’s remake of Chrono Trigger.
This isn’t the first time that miscommunication from Square Enix has sparked rumours of a reboot of the classic game, as earlier this year the company hinted that news on “projects that go beyond the world of the game” could be forthcoming in 2022.
