Summary
In an announcement on the SteamWorks group, Valve has confirmed it will be expanding its Steam Deck Verified programme to include an assessment of compatibility with SteamOS across all titles on the store.
The goal is to give players better insight into whether titles will work with their hardware, with the new ratings appearing on store pages and in libraries where titles are playable on a user’s device.
The move comes as the firm prepares for the launch of the first non-Steam Deck SteamOS device, a new version of the Lenovo Legion Go S.
According to the announcement, Valve expects that over 18,000 titles will be marked as SteamOS Compatible out of the gate.
It also indicates that the firm hopes more hardware makers will launch devices using SteamOS in the future.
