Ubisoft push back some of our biggest games and announce further cost-cutting after a challenging year

Summary
Ubisoft has announced it is pushing back several games as it wants to cut costs by at least €100m across the group over the next two years.
The speculative list of postponed games includes (if unspecified big names are included) Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six titles, but also Star Wars: Outlaws, The Division, and the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake.
Yves Guillemot, CEO, said 2022 had been a challenging year with mixed dynamics across the portfolio, but added the company was in a strong position thanks to the “discipline applied across the group” and the recent launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows – which has apparently achieved the second-highest launch-day revenue of any game in the series.
The company has also recently launched a new corporate subsidiary in partnership with Tencent, dedicated to its popular games.
Following mass layoffs in January, Ubisoft has shrunk its staff headcount by 3,000 since September 2022.
