Summary
Arrowhead Game Studios, the developer of Helldivers 2, is rumoured to be working on a new game.
The new title will be self-funded by the company, amidst success of Helldivers 2.
PlayStation had previously funded Arrowhead’s projects but the developer will be independently funding its next game, as it will have “the freedom to explore really cool concepts that they couldn’t have otherwise,” says CEO Shams Jorjani.
It is rumoured that the upcoming game will not be restricted to PlayStation users, as was the case with Arrowhead’s previous game Helldivers 2.
The game was initially only available to PC users who logged in with a PSN account, which was received negatively, resulting in the requirement being dropped.
Arrowhead’s CEO has stated that they are open to collaborating with PlayStation in the future.
