Summary
GTA 6’s release date has been pushed back from 25th February 2025 to 26th May 2026, much to the annoyance of players globally
Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, explained in an earnings presentation that the game needs more time for polishing in order for Rockstar Games to achieve its creative vision with no limitations and without compromising
Zelnick reassured gamers that historically, when a release date has been set, the company has generally adhered to it, referring to GTA 5 which was only delayed on console, not on PC
He also mentioned that GTA 6’s latest trailer, which showcased the game’s new setting in the city of aroused interest, broke all previous records with over 475 million views in the first 24 hours.
