The popular MMO Final Fantasy 11, which ceased being available on PS2 some years ago, celebrated its 23rd anniversary on Tuesday, with an update outlining new features coming to the game.
These include new monsters being added to the Limbus, a new morale gauge system for Besieged, and a new feature allowing players to change their character’s race, gender, face type, hair colour and size.
According to Yoji Fujito in his anniversary letter, the developers are still focusing on assisting new and returning players, particularly solo players, aiming to improve the gameplay experience for them.
paralleling a similar system in FF14, players can already recruit NPCs to help with quests via the alter ego system, and the developers are looking to upgrade these “ego” characters as part of their ongoing commitment to enhancing the experience for solo players.
