Summary
Former developers of the award-winning role-playing game (RPG) Disco Elysium, have announced a new RPG called Hopetown, which they say combines the emotional depth of their previous game with the narrative complexity of Planescape: Torment.
Longdue, the new studio formed by the developers, will launch a crowdfunding campaign for Hopetown, which invites players to “unforgettable world” where storylines, dialogue choices and gameplay merge.
Players will be able to choose their own style of journalism within the game, from “gonzo journalist” to “conspiracist”, each of which has different gameplay implications and outcomes.
The contributors to the game so far include writers and developers from Knights of Unity, Bungie, Rockstar and Yes, Your Grace, with more promised in the crowdfunding launch.
