In the “Before Times” a mysterious cataclysm occurred resulting in the scattering of many BioWare developers across the gaming industry.
Some of these developers have struggled, with studios closing and operations paused, but others are prospering and Yellow Brick Games, founded by former Dragon Age director Mike Laidlaw, is one such success story.
Laidlaw’s company is set to release its first game, Eternal Strands, on January 28 after a successful Kickstarter campaign, and has just launched a PC demo.
The game is a fantasy action title, played by a battlemage with abilities such asTelekinesis and the ability to kindle wildfires.
It features a similar aesthetic to games such as The Force Unleashed and Psi-Ops, as well as taking influences from Dragon Age and Shadow of the Colossus.
The demo offers two areas of the game world and three weapons types, as well as a crafting system.
